The Department of Pathology includes a state of the art, hospital-based, fully accredited
laboratory. We are accredited by the Joint Commission, the College of American Pathologists, and the American
Association of Blood Banks. This laboratory offers a full range of Clinical and Anatomic Pathology services
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We proudly serve active duty and retired military personnel and their families.

The Department of Pathology is a modern, hospital-based laboratory offering a full range
of clinical and anatomic laboratory services.

Logistical, automation, specimen handling and personnel support functions are
provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The patient population served by the Department of Pathology and Area Laboratory Services includes
approximately 80,600 active duty military, retired military and family members. This population encompasses
all age groups.
The Department of Pathology serves both inpatient and outpatient needs for primary care patients.
Specimen collection is provided in the laboratory for ambulatory patients while laboratory teams provide
inpatient phlebotomy services to the nursing care units.
