Optometry Clinic

What type of care is available?

Full scope optometric care for all age groups, primarily active duty and TRICARE Prime. Full scope care includes examinations for glasses, comprehensive eye health assessment, and management of eye diseases and injuries. Non-Prime patients are seen on a space available basis. Military spectacles may be ordered on a walk-in basis with a current prescription (within two years). The Optometry Service is also responsible for vision readiness for all Basic Trainees at Fort Benning and for all soldiers deploying overseas through the CONUS Replacement Center.

What type of care is not available?

New contact lens fits are generally limited to patients with medical conditions of the eyes requiring contact lenses. Vision Training/Orthoptics is not offered in the Optometry Clinic.

How is care obtained?

Patients should call for appointments. Consults or referrals are not necessary.

Where is the clinic located?

The Optometry Clinic is located within the EENT Clinic, in the basement of the clinic wing of the hospital, directly across from the Victory Clinic.

When is care available?

Hours for the Optometry Clinic are from 0835-1600, Monday - Friday.
